My husband asks me for a Christmas wishlist every year and there are always a few craft-related items on it. Usually, these are things that I have been wanting, but don’t want to splurge on! If you looking for gifts for women friends, crafty gifts for family or things to add to your own list, I found some fun gadgets to check out. I love to dabble in papercrafting, cardmaking, sewing, jewelry making and pretty much everything DIY and so there is a little of everything here.
The Silhouette Cameo is an electronic cutting tool that uses a small blade to cut paper, cardstock, vinyl, vellum, and fabric. It can cut up to 12 inches wide and up to 10 feet long. I got one for my birthday and this little machine is so versatile! It can cut 3D items like party favor boxes, gift bags, cards, and so much more! The best feature of this machine is it’s ability to die-cut printed items like tags or scrapbook die-cuts. You can buy cutting files for just $.99 or less from the Silhouette online store or you can create your own files by using their software that comes with your machine. It also has the ability to cut from SVG files. There are lots of independent online stores that sell fun SVG files. I love being able to buy just the images I want or need for my project. Click for more information and to buy the Silhouette Cameo.
Do you need a smaller Silhouette machine? Silhouette America is releasing the new Silhouette Portrait machine in late November. It has all of the cutting power of the Cameo, but it has a lower price point and it still cuts up to 8 inches wide and 10 feet long.
Craftsy is a online school for crafters, offering a wide selection of online classes taught by some of the best instructors around the world. A Craftsy Class would make a really fun crafty gift. There are so many neat classes from decorating fondant cakes, to sewing, to knitting, papercrafting techniques and so much more. Learn either beginning or advanced techniques.

I love this fun little gadget! It’s definitely a must-have for cardmakers. The Martha Stewart scoreboard helps you score clean lines quickly when making your invitations, cards, boxes and projects. I use it with my Cricut and Silhouette projects! You can score lines every 1/8th inch and it comes with a bone folder tool and an envelope guide to help you create envelopes. Click for more information or to shop for the Martha Stewart Scoring Board.
If you are a scrapbooker or cardmaker, chances are you have purchased a corner punch in the past to create rounded corners on your photos, cards and projects. I have had a few corner rounder punches and they have broken or they get stuck on thicker cardstock. The Corner Chomper is the ultimate corner rounding tool. This bad boy can cut the corners of paper, cardstock, paper, leather and I have even used it on some thin sheet metal for a project! Click for more information or to shop for the Corner Chomper.
I am always cutting cardstock for my projects and cards and I have several papercutters at home. The Fiskars LED Papercutter is easy to use and cuts with the most precision. The best feature of this cutter is the LED light that shows you exactly where your cut will be, so no surprises. I also love that it folds up and locks when not in use. Click to find out for information and to shop for the Fiskars LED Papercutter.
Xyron sticker and adhesive machines come in all sizes to fit your project. You feed your cardstock cutout into the Xyron and it makes it a sticker. I found that the 5-inch machine is most versatile and it doesn’t waste too much if you feed smaller items through your machine. I use it for my scrapbooking and cards, but it can be used for other projects too. Another fun way to use this machine is with Martha Stewart glitter. You can send your item through the machine so the front is all sticky and then sprinkle on glitter! It gives your item a nice even coating of glitter. Send your already-glittered cutout through the machine again and make it a sticker! Click to find out more information or to shop for the Xyron Sticker and Adhesive Machine.
These are on my wishlist this year and I hope Santa stuffs them in my stocking! Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors help you quickly add fringe to your projects or you can quickly whip up some confetti. My kids would love these for their art projects. I also noticed that some people use these for quickly shredding mail and papers, so no need for that big, pricey paper shredder. These very bright lamps are perfect for those crafters that love to make jewelry, cards and need extra light to see their projects. This lamp won’t distort the colors of your project by shining too bright or not bright enough. It folds up easily for storage. I will definitely have this on my list this year! If you are a Silhouette or Cricut user, or if you make projects with hot fix gems, this tool is a must-have. It’s shaped like a pen, but has a gummy end to help you both pick up and position your items right where you want them. When I am picking up small Cricut or Silhouette cuts and I’m trying to place them onto my project, this little tool helps me grab items that are too big for my fingers to grasp. I, then, add my glue on the underside of the cut and I push them into place with my Pick Me Up. Click to find out more information or to buy the Silhouette Pick Me Up Tool.
