discovery girls magazine

Somehow my little girl has turned into a tween and with that comes all kinds of new issues to deal with and explore. That is why I was glad to learn about Discovery Girls magazine.

Discovery Girls is a destination where tween girls can express themselves, share ideas, connect with other girls and discover helpful tips for handling life’s ups and downs. Discovery Girls articles and features are written by girls, for girls–which means their content touches on topics that really matters to tweens. Their goal is to help girls grow and develop, forming a positive sense of self through solutions that build confidence, resilience and independence. I love how the magazine doesn’t try to be too grown up and that the girls in the magazine are “real girls”.

They consider all their readers to be “Discovery Girls” – girls who are curious, strong, and enthusiastic about becoming the very best they can be. (I LOVE all those attributes!) In each issue of Discovery Girls, they feature 12 “Discovery Girls” they’ve chosen to represent the state in the magazine. Every other month, they visit a different state for a two-day photo shoot, during which the 12 Discovery Girls from that state help put together the issue.

Overall, I found the magazines to be very age appropriate and great content for tweens. My daughter said that she loved the Discovery Girls magazines. She especially liked that it had stories written by the girls themselves.

Discover Girls is offering on lucky reader a prize pack with the following items.

  • 1 complimentary year subscription to the magazine (a $20 value!)
  • 1 set of our Fab Girls book set ($40)
  • 1 10-Year Anniversary Collector’s Edition, which will encompass 10 years of the best content from the magazine! ($10)

I would love to win this contest so I can gift the magazine to my tween niece Taylor. She is in 4th grade and undergoing all kinds of change in her life. I think this magazine would be a great way to learn about being her best. Girls need good role models and reading magazines like this be a great fit.

Hi I would love to win this contest because I would love to give this to my 10 year old daughter who’s in grade 5 and is sad because she doesn’t fit in so this would be great for her and she loves to read discovery girls from the library but she is always begging me to buy her a subscription. So my daughter would be so happy if she won

I’d like to win this for my 11 year old niece because she just started middle school. This can be such a tough time for kids…I think it would be great for her to have perspectives of real girls from outside her school to read. I know this is a responsible magazine, still cute and fun but not telling 11 year olds to try and look/act like adults! I would love to give it to her!

I would love to win this because my granddaughter has experienced bullying in her life – and had to change schools because of it. She is working her way through it by blogging about pets in shelters. She feels she needs to be the champion of creatures that are far less fortunate than herslef. I’d love her to have a resource that will show her the many ways she can participate in life – and the many ways life will get better for her as time goes on. We could read this together and both learn something!

I would like to win this for my daughter. She is 12 and in 7th grade. She has had a rough start to school and would benefit from reading opinions , stories, and perspectives from other girls her age. She would greatly enjoy a mag like Discovery Girls.

I would like to win this for my daughter Madeline. I feel that she needs more positive reinforcement with her self-image & I think that reading articles written by girls her own age will work better than hearing it from her mom,
