There are some super cute places to hide the kid’s Easter baskets that I just had to share with all of you!
Here are some creatives hiding spots for kids to find their Easter baskets on easter day.
Create a blanket fort and have it waiting in the bunny burrow
How cute, right? Why not create your own little Easter bunny burrow using a tent or blankets and have the kids go in to see their Easter basket? They’ll love the adventure and you’ll love seeing them giggle!
Send them on an adventure with a string
Start by wrapping a string around the doorknob. Then when they wake up, they’ll have to follow the string all the way through the house to see what’s waiting for them at the end!
Gather up their stuffed animals and create a tea party
If you have a little table (or even your kitchen table would work) gather them up and have them all sitting at the table, sitting around the Easter basket.
Have a scavenger hunt full of clues
Start by placing a clue on the mirror in the bathroom that you know they’ll see right when they wake up. Then watch their excitement as they sprint around the house looking for and finding the rest of the clues! Grab our printable clues above.
Tips & ideas for creative places to hide Easter Baskets
It’s also important to understand that you might not be hiding them from the big kids so they don’t eat everything before Easter but you might also be hiding them from the little kids to still have the fun and magic of the Easter bunny. Either way, these fun hiding places for Easter baskets are certain to work!
The last time I hid Easter baskets, the kids were going a bit stir crazy trying to find out where I’d stored them. I actually found this quite humorous and it fed that inner competitive gene inside me to make certain that there was no way they could be found. (and as long a the kids aren’t tearing up the house looking for them, you’ll be fine!)
All of these hiding places listed below are going to be the perfect way to hide their Easter surprises!
Back of the closet
If you have a big walk-in closet, this is a great place to store their Easter treats. Just make certain to hide them in a suitcase or way up high on a shelf so that they’ll never have any clue where they are.
In the garage
My kids NEVER go to the garage for anything so this is a place that I can easily hide things and never have to worry about the kids finding them. Just make certain it’s not too hot in there so that the chocolate doesn’t melt!
In their rooms
Trust me, as crazy as this sounds – it works! The kids will NEVER think to look in their own rooms for their Easter baskets, ever. Again, you’ll need to disguise them a bit but this will probably be one of the last places that they’ll look.
In the trunk of the car
I also rely on the trunk space of my car for hiding a lot of any type of gifts. As long as I don’t ask the kids to help me get anything from the car, there is really no reason for them to ever get inside the tail end of it.
In the dryer
Don’t have any laundry planned for a few days before Easter? Why not put their Easter baskets in the dryer for a fun hiding place? Since the kids might be slacking a bit on their chores this time of year, they’re unlikely to discover their Easter baskets at all!
Under the couch
Have you ever looked under your couch? There’s probably a ton of things hiding under there that you didn’t even know were missing!
If you have a couch that has space between the floor and the bottom of the couch, stick those Easter baskets underneath and push them all the way to the back. They’ll be out of plain sight and you’ll be giggling away knowing that the baskets are right there in the same room with the kids the entire time.
No matter where you decide to hide your Easter baskets, there are a few things to keep in mind.
Be certain that you’re not storing them somewhere that is too hot or too cold as it will damage them and that’s just not any fun for anyone at all!
The other thing to remember is that if you do decide to store them outside somewhere like in a shed or shop, be aware of critters that might have a sweet tooth, too. There’s nothing worse than going out to get the Easter baskets only to discover that something else has already started in on the Easter fun.
Have fun thinking of other creative places to hide Easter baskets as you know your children better than anyone else. This is a simple and fun way to keep the element of surprise alive and well for Easter!
