I love Halloween and it is so fun to get the whole family involved including your pets! I am a HUGE fan of family themed costumes. If I could convince everyone, we would always have a Halloween theme. When my youngest was just a baby, my older daughter was in her Disney Princess phase. She dressed as Ariel and my baby girl was Sebastian.

What was great about the Ariel costume is that we used it for dress up for many years after that and even brought it with us to Disney World. Most Halloween costumes work great all year round for pretend play and dress up. This is a great time to check out costumes for your dress up bin too. BuyCostumes has Orange Tag Specials for only $10! New items are added each week. There is a super cute witch costume on sale this week for just $10!

BuyCostumes carries a bunch of Ariel costumes and a similar baby lobster costume. Plus Mom could dress as Ursala for even more fun.

The next themed costume we used was Alice in Wonderland. I was only able convince them since our dog was the white rabbit! These are my absolute favorite costumes they have worn.

Look at the super cute pocket watch detail on the White Rabbit dog costume.

Some other family Halloween costume themes I have considered in the past are Wizard of Oz and Star Wars. I have a friend whose family dressed in the Star Wars theme and it was so fun and festive! I just love the toddler R2D2 and dog  Yoda costume!

All the costumes below are available from BuyCostumes and you can even save an extra 20% on orders over $50! Just use  the coupon code afchalloween2050  at check out to get 20% off your order of $50 or more!

The Wizard of Oz theme is classic Halloween fun. Have Dad dress as the tin man, brother as the lion, and sisters as Dorothy and the Wicked Witch. Don’t forget about your dog as the scarecrow! All these costumes are available from Buycostumes as well!

One great feature about shopping with Buycostumes is their “I want to be guarantee.” If you received your order and need a different size,  BuyCostumes.com wants to make sure that process is fast and easy, and with no additional shipping charges! They offer exchanges for a different size of a costume or accessory purchased on the site through 10/31/14. Please see the Return Policy for exclusions and more information about returns and exchanges. This program is only available on costumes and accessories with more than one size.

This year my youngest is going as Hermoine from Harry Potter but my older daughter isn’t sold on the theme this year. We already bought the scarf and headband when we visited theWizarding World of Harry Potter. I have been on the hunt for a Dobby costume for our dog. I wonder whether the Yoda ears could be made to look like a house elf. What do you think?
