Subscription Box for Teens
Teens love receiving something unexpected in the mail, and Maker Crate helps them learn new fun skills. These boxes are remarkably affordable for parents as well as grandparents or aunts and uncles when you consider how much is included in each box. We had purchased Doodle Crate in the past and were excited when Kiwi Crate wanted to partner with us and sent us a Maker Crate to try out.
What Is Maker Crate
The Maker Crate is a monthly subscription box recommended for ages fourteen all the way to one hundred and four, but is great for hard-to-please teens. Each month a box is delivered with a new art and design project and all the supplies inside. If you do not feel like the Maker Crate is the right box for you KiwiCo offers many different lines of boxes so there is a perfect fit for anyone. For example, there is the Eureka Crate that is also great for teens who are more interested in engineering and design. There is also the option to buy a single box on the website store if you do not wish to subscribe.
Why is Maker Crate a Great Gift
The Maker Crate is perfect for creative people of a wide range of ages. Whether you are a teen or a senior this subscription box has something that you would enjoy. Each month you get a new box with a different surprise art and design project. To help you create your project there are easy to follow instructional videos that help guide you through the entire process. The videos also include great inspiration to help start you off in the creative process if you are lost.
In addition, inside the box, all the supplies that you would possibly need are included, which saves you an annoying trip to the store. Throughout doing the project you gain new lifelong skills that you can use in the future for new endeavors or creative projects. This box helps you exercise the creativity that you have always had inside, while also improving your problem solving skills.
Maker Crate Review
The box that I received was the embroidered apron project. Inside, the box had a sewing guide along with a corresponding instructional video that taught me how to do all the different types of stitches. This fully prepared me to complete the embroidery of the apron itself. Embroidering the apron was an extremely fun and relaxing experience. I used one of the many design options given in the box and selected my own colors to personalize the apron.
I also have supplies from the box to even create personal patches to embellish the apron further. After I was finished I had plenty of thread to keep creating and designing. With some of my thread I decided to personalize a pair of my old black shorts. I used the daisy stitch and the french knot stitch that I learned with the stitch guide and made white and yellow daisies on my shorts, which gave them a whole new fun look!
Teen Gift Idea
Overall the Maker Crate is a wonderful gift for any artistic and creative person that can teach them new skills while simultaneously having fun and exercising their creativity. Whether you are looking for a gift for a teen for the holidays, a birthday, or any celebration the Maker Crate or any of the other lines KiwiCo offers is a perfect idea.
