Free Valentines Printable for Kids

Valentine’s Day is usually a big celebration at school and your kids will love assembling these cool valentines, to bring to their friends and classmates. This backpack flair Free Valentines Printable for Kids is so versatile. Your kids will love choosing their favorite backpack flair to attach to their cards. Patches, Pins or keychains and zipper pulls are all fun ideas to attach to this Free Valentines Printable. Your kids can show their own personal style with these free printable backpack flair valentines.

No Candy Valentine Ideas

Valentines Day can be filled with tons of sweets and I love finding No Candy Valentine Ideas. Your kids will be proud to bring these adorable Backpack Flair cards to class. Even though there is no candy involved, you can still attach something unique and fun to your card. This Free Valentines Printable for Kids is a cute kawaii-style backpack meant for attaching backpack flair. Backpack flair is anything meant to personalize a backpack like patches, pins or keychain pulls. My daughter has a bunch of fun patches ironed onto her backpack. I love this retro cola iron on patch that I have attached to the card in the photo. Buttons or pins also make great backpack flair. You can also punch a hole on the “zipper” on the card to attach a cute keychain zipper pull.

Assembling Your DIY Free Printable Valentines

These fun DIY Free Printable Valentines are easy to assemble.

There are only a few supplies needed to assemble these DIY Free Printable Valentines. You may already have many of these supplies, on hand, at home. We put together a list of supplies you will need and make a few suggestions on where to find the best supplies to create your Free DIY Printable Valentines.

We have found that it is best to print your valentines on white cardstock that is 110 lbs, that is specifically good for printing with your home printer. I buy mine in a large pack and there are leftovers for future projects.

Choose a fun backpack flair to attach to your cards, whether it is fun iron-on patches, pins or keychains/zipper pulls. Iron-on Patches are easy to attach with a simple piece of double-sized tape. I love Scotch brand double-sided tape. Pins or small buttons can be pinned right onto the card. Depending on the size of your button or pin, they look cute pinned to the backpack pocket. If you want to attach a keychain/backpack pull to your card, simply punch a small hole on zipper area of the card with a mini hole punch. Use a small piece of string and loop it around your keychain and push both ends of the string through the hole, to the back of your card. Tie it in a knot, trim the ends of your string to about one inch and put a piece of tape on the back of your card to secure the string. These cute Lego-Inspired brick keychains are perfect for both boys and girls to personalize your DIY Free Printable Valentines with fun backpack flair.

DIY Printable Valentines – Supplies

  • Free Printable File – Backpack Flair Valentine Card
  • White 110 lb. Cardstock for Printing
  • Craft Paper Trimmer or Scissors
  • Backpack Flair of Choice – Iron-on Patches, Pins, or Keychains/Zipper Pulls
  • Double-Sided Tape (for patches)
  • Thin White String (for Keychains/Zipper Pulls
  • Scotch Tape (for Keychains/Zipper Pulls

First, download the free file below (see sign-up form). The file will print two valentines per page and can be printed on your home printer, on 8.5 x 11 white cardstock. I suggest using 110lb cardstock to create durable cards.

Then use a crafting paper trimmer or scissors to cut out your free printable valentines. Using a crafting paper trimmer will speed up the process and is best for getting accurate straight edges.

Personalize your cards and attach your backpack flair. Patches can be attached by placing a piece of double-sized tape on the pocket of the backpack and attaching it. Pins or buttons can be pinned right onto your card. To attach a keychain/zipper pull, simply punch a small hole on zipper area of the card with a mini hole punch. Use a small piece of string and loop it around your keychain and push both ends of the string through the hole, to the back of your card. Tie it in a knot, trim the ends of your string to about one inch and put a piece of tape on the back of your card to secure the string. Be sure your kids are gentle with cards with the keychains attached.
