Valentine’s Day can be a fun time to be creative with your kids and you will love these Lollipop, Cherry Valentines. These free printable Valentine Cards for kids are cute and trendy and fun to make. Download our free printable Valentine tags or free printable Valentine cards and gather a few supplies to DIY these adorable Valentine treats. All of the instructions are below on how to create these Valentines. You can either tie our free printable tags around your cherries with a cute bow or either attach or bag up your cherries with our free printable card. We gave you two options for these free printable Valentines cards for kids.
Free Printable Valentines for Kids
When my kids were younger, they loved to DIY their Valentines. They didn’t want to buy their Valentines from the store and they loved buying supplies, putting them together and they felt so much pride while handing them out to their friends. Below are instructions on how to assemble the cherries and you have both a tag and card options for your Valentine’s Cards. These trendy valentines are a fun project for older kids. The printable tags and cards say: “You’re a Cherry Sweet Friend” and include a “from” area where your kids can fill in their name.
How to Make Cherries Valentines
To make these adorable cherries with lollipops, you only need a few supplies. You can use tootsie pops or any lollipop to create these cherries. The red Tootsie pops make the best cherries or you can use red tissue paper to cover the wrapper to make them red! You can buy an entire bag of red lollipops too, to make it easy. Plus, we give you two options for these free printable Valentines cards. We created a large tag option that you can tie onto your cherries or you can attach your cherries to our Valentine card or bag them up with a bow for a cute look. I recommend printing your Valentines on 110lb smooth, white cardstock. I bought a large pack and it’s so useful for a variety of projects.
Supplies Needed:
- Free Printable File
- Home Printer
- 110 lb. Smooth Cardstock
- Green Floral Tape
- Tootsie Pops or large, round lollipops
- Glue Gun
- Ribbon
- Scissors and or paper trimmer
- Hole Punch (tag option)
- Red Tissue Paper (optional), cut in 4.5 x 4.5 inch squares
First download the free file below (see sign-up form). The file will print six tags per page or 4 card valentines per page and can be printed on your home printer, on 8.5 x 11 white cardstock. I suggest using 110lb cardstock to create durable cards.
Then use a crafting paper trimmer or scissors to cut out your free printable valentines. Using a crafting paper trimmer will speed up the process and is best for getting accurate straight edges. If you are doing the tag option, use your hole puncher to create the holes for the ribbon.
To create your cherries, start at neck of the lollipop and stretch the floral tape around the stick of your lollipop, moving your way to the end of the stick, covering it all. It’s VERY important to stretch the tape as you go, so it gets sticky and adheres to the lollipop. *If you are covering the lollipop wrapper with red tissue paper*, use a 4.5 x 4.5 square piece of red tissue and wrap it around the lollipop head, cinching it at the neck, BEFORE you start cover the stick with the green floral tape. The ends of the tissue paper get covered by the floral tape, at the neck of the lollipop. After both cherries are finished, gently and slighly bend the lollipop sticks a little bit, to bow them. Use your glue gun to glue them at the top. After the glue has hardened, wrap the ends together with floral tape to secure them.
Lastly, fill out and tie on your tags if you are doing the tag option. If you are choosing the card option, attach the card any way you like or you can bag the cherries and the card in cello bag and tie them with a ribbon for a cute look.
